LGBTQIA+ people, and other marginalized communities have been the backbone of Democratic victories and too often, they’ve been taken for granted. For decades, our economic system has been especially brutal to working-class women, queer and trans people, and people of color, while billionaires at the top pit us against one another to protect their own power. We’re told to blame trans people, immigrants, or queer families for economic pain caused by a rigged system and that lie has done real harm.

I believe in righting that historic injustice. That means defending civil liberties and governing with a lens centered on those most impacted, not those most powerful. It means standing unequivocally with LGBTQIA+ communities – especially trans people – against political scapegoating and state violence.
