The Democratic Party had the chance to raise the federal minimum wage under President Biden but failed to make it happen. We need to fast track a raise in wages to a new minimum of $25, but our efforts can’t stop there. Congress must act to strengthen and defend unions, protect the right to organize, and make sectoral bargaining the norm again. History has shown us that when workers have power, wages go up – and the economy works for everyone, not just for the billionaires and corporations!
