Our youth and working families deserve to live free from the epidemic of gun violence that has shattered too many communities. To build a country that is safe for all, we must confront the root causes  of violence: inequality, poverty, misogyny, and the lack of access to affordable healthcare and mental health support. Ending gun violence in America means protecting and uplifting communities that have long been denied opportunity and are targeted by discrimination.

We support evidence-based, equitably applied reforms championed by young leaders across the country, including red flag laws to protect victims of domestic violence, closing background check loopholes, implementing waiting periods, and requiring safe gun storage and training.

Finally, achieving these changes requires a Congress that is not beholden to corporate lobbies like the NRA, which will always put profits before the safety and freedom of the American people.
